About Jackie Melissas

Jackie is drawn to the sensual nature of clay and the organic use of media. Her current work reflects an examination of both archeological roots and contemporary aesthetics. Fascinated with thin-walled structures, much of her work is Raku or smoke fired.
Originally from the Boston suburbs, Jackie majored in painting and printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design. Later in her career, she discovered and fell in love with ceramics! Jackie holds both BFA and MAT degrees.She is represented by New England galleries and has a studio in RI.
